Senior Associate

Laura specializes in labor and employment matters as well as in litigation and commercial disputes.

Over the course of her career, she has represented both Romanian and international clients on a variety of employment matters, including complex restructuring projects, transferring employers following a transfer of undertaking as well as helping clients with complex disciplinary matters, management and employment agreements and on the preparation and review of internal rules and regulations.  Laura as also advised on strategies and negotiations regarding collective bargaining agreements and worked on various internal compliance matters and investigations.

In addition to her employment work, Laura has experience in a broad range of commercial litigation matters.  Recent litigation work includes advising on disputes involving capital markets, real estate issues and complex contract and corporate issues.

  • assisted Banca Transilvania with the integration of employees following Romania’s largest bank merger. The matter involved dealing with thousands of employees and was the top employment project of 2018;
  • advised an international bank with its collective bargaining agreement, including developing strategies for conducting the negotiations. The project involved over 500 employees;
  • assisted a leading financial institution in its investigation of senior management for possible malfeasance and the embezzlement of over Euro 1 million;
  • advised a leading Italian bank on its management structure and the dismissal of high-ranking personnel;
  • provided assistance to an international bank in relation with its labor and employment issues following a merger of its operations. The project involved hundreds of employees;
  • assisted an important player on the pharmaceutical market with its employment issues following the restructuring of its sales department;
  • represented a leading international IT company in an unusual and unique case before the Anti-Discrimination Council following a complaint made by its HR Manager;
  • advised a leading telecom company with the termination of its senior management.
  • represented two leading companies in the environmental protection field in a series of litigation matters in connection with contractual claims and the assignment of debt between multiple companies.
  • represented a leading Romanian pipe manufacturer (who employed rail workers in their transport department) in a series of complex railway regulation and disciplinary dismissal cases;
  • assisted a large real estate developer with regard to litigation against minority shareholders. Case value was over Euro 40 million;
  • represented a Romanian bank in a dispute with a member of top management, who challenged their mutual termination agreement concluded with the employer; and
  • represented a leading firm in heavy-industries with regard to the termination of employees involving their medical incapacity and charges of employer discriminatory practices.
